Cabinet Terminology

What is a Base End Cabinet?

Base End CabinetThe definition of a base end cabinet is the last cabinet in a series of storage spaces located beneath a countertop. It is not necessary to include a base end cabinet in a kitchen design, but it adds a decorative touch to the storage area.

A base end cabinet is a simple addition to a kitchen design. Base end cabinets have doors and look just like the other cabinets in the series, but the interior is angled in order to taper the end of the row. This eliminates sharp corners while adding an extra place in which to store kitchen items. Base end cabinets are typically smaller than the rest of the cabinets in the kitchen and are ideal for storing small dishes or utensils that are not used frequently. They are made of the same wood as the other cabinets, and the door can have the same decorative elements that are available for regular cabinets.
